To begin, LaseMD is non-ablative, which means that it does not remove the top layer of your skin during treatment. This is an important difference between LaseMD and many other lasering treatments that are ablative and completely remove your skin’s top layer.
Another key difference is that LaseMD uses fractional laser technology, meaning that the laser energy that is delivered to your skin is broken up into countless microscopic treatment zones, whereas other treatment options direct energy to 100% of the treatment area.
As with any laser treatment, LaseMD uses a medical-grade device to deliver laser energy to the underlying layers of the skin, creating thousands of micro-channels. Here’s the good news: there is only good news. LaseMD is a fast and effective procedure that can be completed in less than an hour. (Many of our patients even come in during their lunchtimes.) It requires no anesthesia or incisions. Most patients report that they only felt a warm tingling sensation throughout the procedure, but this will depend on the extent of the correction being made and your individual pain thresholds.
